Opal Strings Australia

Opal Strings offers a range of violin, viola, and cello strings developed through research, advanced materials, and collaboration with players. The range includes synthetic core, nylon, and steel constructions, as well as Twin X-core designs for cello.

Each set is built using specific material combinations, including aluminium, silver, titanium, tungsten, alloy, and Kevlar windings, selected to achieve different tonal characteristics and playing responses.

Opal Strings are available across Australia & New Zealand through authorised dealers, with violin, viola, and cello string sets offered alongside selected single strings.

Opal Gold Cello Strings

Anastasia Kobekina demonstrates each string Opal Gold

The Opal Gold Twin X-core.

Opal Gold cello strings feature an innovative Twin X-core design, delivering a warm sound with a wide range of overtones, giving players the freedom to create their own sound.

With fast reaction, clear articulation, and powerful volume, they support consistent performance.

Developed Through Research

Opal Gold cello strings are the result of extensive research, investment in technology, and collaboration with highly sensitive players across multidisciplinary teams.

Twin X-Core Construction

The G and C strings feature two steel cores wrapped in opposite directions, providing strength and flexibility while creating the feeling of lower tension despite higher actual tension.

This results in a clear, brilliant sound with the warmth of gut, balanced with the A and D strings for a cohesive set.
